Beautiful landscape and natural stone walkway

The front of this brick colonial needed an entry you could actually walk, and a garden that made sense of the slope down to the driveway.

The walkway

Irregular natural stone was laid from the driveway to the front steps in a broad, easy curve, wide enough for two people and set flush so it mows cleanly at the lawn edge.

The planting

An established laceleaf Japanese maple was kept and made the center of the scheme, underplanted with mondo grass and low evergreens. New sod runs up to the bed lines, and the beds are edged and mulched to hold that shape.
