A formal front entry at Wakefield, planted for structure first and seasonal color second.

Structure

Clipped hedging runs the length of the walk with multi-stemmed crape myrtles set behind it, so the planting reads as a green wall through the winter and flowers overhead in summer.

Ground plane

Mondo grass covers the ground in place of turf where the shade is heaviest, with a block of white pansies at the pier for winter color.
